Margaret has practised in family law and estates for more than 25 years, first in Sydney and then in Canberra, where she co-founded Burley Walsh with Daniel Walsh in 2009.
Her family law work focuses on property settlements and parenting arrangements, with a strong preference for negotiated outcomes. When a matter does need to go to court, she prepares it with care and briefs counsel early.
In estates, Margaret advises on wills, testamentary trusts and enduring powers of attorney, and guides executors through probate. She is often asked to help families where a parent's capacity is declining, a situation she approaches with patience and discretion.
Outside the office, Margaret volunteers at a community legal service's evening advice sessions and is a keen bushwalker in Namadgi National Park.
